BRIDLE | COMBINATION | BLACK No. 08
SVART
A unique combination bridle that offers the effects of both a hackamore and a snaffle bit. When you use the reins, pressure is also applied to the nose bridge. The noseband has a "cracked" shape and a small cushion on the inside to ensure it stays perfectly in place.
This bridle is particularly suited for young horses and horses that avoid taking contact with the bit.
The bridle is available in sizes cob, full, and x-full, and you can customize the size of each part to suit your horse's specific needs. An orange OCTA pin is placed on the noseband and on the left side of the browband.
YOUNG HORSES where you want to preserve their sensitive mouth and be gentle with your hands while still having full impact.
HOT HORSES where you may need some help in encouraging the horse to back off due to the pressure on the nose bridge instead of having to switch to a harsher bit.
CROSS-COUNTRY IN EVENTING where you want to keep the airways completely free with a tightly fastened noseband while still maintaining full control.
Are you unsure about what size to order? Check out our SIZE GUIDE
The bridles are true to size, so if your horse usually wears a full, it’s likely the same size will work for this bridle as well. It’s most common to have the same size for all parts.
If you know that your horse typically needs a bigger or smaller part, you can order the bridle according to what you think is best.
You always have the option to exchange the size of one or more parts after trying the bridle at home in the stable, and we offer free exchanges, so you don’t have to bear the return cost.
However, we do ask that you notify us in advance if you plan to exchange a part, so we can reserve it for you. If you’re unsure, it’s always a good idea to take pictures or a video and send them to us so we can help guide you to the best solution. We won’t rest until everything fits perfectly, so we really encourage you to both film/take photos and brainstorm ideas with us.

COMBINATION NOSEBAND
COMBINES THE EFFECT OF BOTH A BIT AND A HACKAMORE
This noseband is entirely unique in both design and function, with the noseband and cheekpiece connected. This means that when you take hold of the reins, pressure is also applied over the bridge of the nose. You can easily adjust the height of the noseband, which allows you to control the leverage effect. The higher the noseband, the gentler the pressure on the nose.
The noseband features a cushion on the inside, positioned directly over the nose bridge, and its "cracked" OCTA design ensures the noseband stays perfectly in place, naturally contouring to the shape of the nose. The strap fastened below the bit is convex, allowing it to sit gently around the bit without pushing it upwards into the mouth.
The distinctive OCTA symbol is placed at the center of the noseband.
PADDED IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES
HEADPIECE that protects the TMJ
The headpiece of this bridle, like all our others, is softly padded along the ear. It features a small "tunnel" where the mane can comfortably fit, but most importantly, the headpiece includes a perfectly positioned cushion to protect the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), which, simply put, is the joint where the lower jaw attaches to the skull. It is considered the most sensitive joint in the horse’s body and can be compared to our temples.
COMMON PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH TMJ PAIN
- Head shaking
- Sensitive ears, head-shyness, reluctance to be bridled
- Tendency to place the tongue over the bit
- Tension in the neck
- Prefers to carry the head slightly tilted
The browband is easy to change but has a fixed position, so it cannot move up or down.

THE HISTORY OF...
BRIDLE No. 08
This bridle was launched over 5 years ago under the name NIRAK at PS of SWEDEN. The name is KARIN spelled backward, and when Karin sold PS, she brought along a few bridle models she had already designed in her previous company. Now, this highly popular bridle model has been upgraded and redesigned, and it is now part of our OCTA CONCEPT.
