ELEGANT & FUNCTIONAL JUMPING BRIDLE

This refined and feather-light pony bridle is developed with a focus on balance, stability and comfort, with every element working together to reduce unnecessary pressure. The construction is based on a thoughtful fit and designed to ensure that the bridle stays securely and steadily in place.

The headpiece is balanced to distribute pressure evenly and remain stable without shifting or creating uneven pressure, even during fast turns in jumping, where the inside rein is often guiding and the outer side of the bridle can risk sliding upwards towards the eye.

The noseband is designed to protect sensitive areas around the cheek and provide the horse with greater comfort around the mouth and jaw.

The noseband features a simple fastening, not a pullback fastening, and the flash strap is completely removable. This means that even the small tab disappears, leaving the noseband neat and minimalist.

The result is a bridle that allows the pony to move more freely and relaxed, helping it focus on its rider rather than distractions such as discomfort, a browband that shifts around or even pain in the mouth.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A

BALANCED NECKPIECE

When the horse takes contact with the bit, the force is transmitted up through the cheekpieces and further to the crownpiece. If the crownpiece is not correctly positioned or can move sideways, an uneven load occurs, with one side taking more tension than the other. This often happens when the crownpiece is overly padded or when the noseband sits in a loose strap lying over the crownpiece with its buckle on one side.

The result is a constant uneven load on the neck, even though the support in the reins is balanced. A still and balanced crownpiece ensures that the effect of the bit is perceived more equally on the right and left sides, and that the headstall remains in its correct position—even in fast jumping turns where the inside hand may be used more.

Otherwise, the outer-side straps can easily slip forward toward the eye and disturb the pony, while the entire headstall shifts its weight/load. We want the pony to experience consistent and predictable pressure, which helps framing, balance, and provides a more even rein support—even during fast-paced jumping classes.

NOTE: Ponies have limited space at the top of the neck, just behind the ears. If the crownpiece is oversized, there is a high risk that the entire bridle will slip. This is especially important in jumping if the pony bolts or stops in front of an obstacle.

DEVELOPED TO PROTECT THE INSIDE OF THE CHEEK

This cavesson noseband has been developed with a special focus on comfort and protection of the inside of the cheek, tailored to the pony’s smaller and more compact head. The shaped padding creates a deliberate space between the noseband and the horse’s soft tissues, reducing the risk of pressure, pinching, and sores which are problems that can occur when the noseband sits directly against the cheek.

Thanks to our unique design, the cheek has space inside the noseband instead of being pressed in and pinched between the teeth and the noseband. The padding works with the shape, resulting in a noseband that sits securely, follows the pony’s nasal bridge, and remains stable during work.

The removable Aachen strap allows the noseband to be adjusted according to need and training style without affecting fit or basic function.

A correctly shaped noseband that sits still is far less disturbing to the pony than a loosely fitted noseband that moves on the head during riding. For ponies, where small disturbances quickly have a large effect, stability and proper proportions are essential.
