PONY BRIDLE | ROUND-STITCHED ENGLISH | BLACK NO. 14
PONY COLLECTION
BEAUTIFULLY ROLLED & MINIMALIST
This beautiful dressage bridle has been developed with a focus on balance, stability, and comfort, with every component working together to reduce unnecessary strain. The construction is based on a carefully considered fit and clear lines of pull, allowing the bridle to remain completely still with every step.
The headpiece is balanced to distribute pressure evenly and stay stable without shifting or causing uneven load. The noseband is designed to protect sensitive areas of the cheek and provide the horse with greater comfort in the mouth and jaw region.
The noseband fastens with a simple buckle, not a pull-back, and the flash strap is fully removable. This means even the “small flap” disappears, leaving the noseband neat and minimalist.
The result is a headpiece that allows the pony to move more relaxed, enabling it to focus on the rider rather than distractions such as discomfort, a slipping browband, or even pain.

UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF
A BALANCED NECKPIECE
When the pony takes contact with the bit, the force is transmitted up through the cheekpieces and further to the headpiece. If the headpiece is not correctly positioned—or, even worse, can move back and forth—uneven pressure occurs, with the pull and pressure constantly shifting between the right and left sides of the neck and mouth.
This often happens when the headpiece is too heavily padded, lacks fixed, centered attachments, and instead has buckles that sit loose or movable on top of the headpiece. Such a construction will inevitably force the noseband and/or bit to one side. The result is a constant uneven load on the neck, even when the reins are held evenly.
There are therefore two problem areas:
- Too much padding, which makes the headpiece unstable and shapeless.
- When the adjustment of the noseband and cheekpieces is done via a movable buckle.
A headpiece with fixed, centered attachments, on the other hand, stays stable in relation to the bit. This ensures that the force from both reins is transmitted through the bit along symmetrical lines of pull. This provides even pressure over the neck while the horse works in consistent contact. The headpiece can absorb the load without rotating, sliding, or exaggerating the horse’s natural asymmetry.
The result of a balanced line of pull is that the bit’s effect is felt more equally on the right and left sides. The pony experiences consistent and predictable pressure, which facilitates straightening, supports the bit, and provides a softer contact in the rider’s hand.
NOTE!
Ponies have limited space in the neck behind the ears. If the headpiece is oversized, there is a high risk that the entire bridle will slip out of position.
DEVELOPED TO PROTECT THE INSIDE OF THE CHEEK
This English noseband is designed with a special focus on comfort and protection of the inside of the cheek, tailored to the pony’s smaller, more compact head. The shaped padding creates a deliberate space between the noseband and the horse’s soft tissues, reducing the risk of pressure, pinching, and sores which are problems that can occur when the noseband sits directly against the cheek.
Thanks to our unique design, the cheek has room inside the noseband instead of being pressed inward and pinched between the teeth and the noseband. The padding works with the shape of the nose, resulting in a stable noseband that follows the pony’s nasal ridge, and remains in place during work.
The removable flash strap allows the noseband to be adapted according to the pony’s needs and the type of training, without affecting the fit or basic function.
A properly shaped, stable noseband disturbs the pony far less than a loosely fastened noseband that moves on the head during riding. For ponies, where even small disturbances can have a significant effect, stability and correct proportions are crucial.
