ICELANDIC BRIDLE | PATENT - CRYSTALS | BLACK NO. 17
ICELANDIC COLLECTION
FLASH BRIDLE WITH REMOVABLE STRAP
This bridle, featuring its beautifully designed noseband, has been developed with a focus on balance, stability, and comfort, with every component working together to reduce unnecessary pressure. The construction is not based on fixation, but on a carefully considered fit and clear lines of pull that allow the bridle to remain stable without creating static pressure.
The noseband is available in several designs, letting you choose between a simple, classic, and elegant style or a more exclusive patent leather version, adorned with a row of black crystals along the top and bottom. This creates a noseband that is not only functional but also exceptionally beautiful.
The headpiece is balanced to distribute pressure evenly and stay stable without shifting or causing uneven load. The noseband is designed to protect sensitive areas of the cheek and provide the horse with enhanced comfort in the mouth and jaw region, even during longer rides. The ability to adjust the bridle to the individual horse and its needs makes it suitable for both training and competition.
The result is a bridle that allows the horse to move more freely, relax, and respond more softly to the rider’s aids—especially in gaits that require a high degree of balance and coordination, such as tölt.
THE IMPORTANCE OF
A BALANCED NECKPIECE
The Icelandic horse has a short, strong neck that is highly sensitive to uneven pressure. This makes the construction of the headpiece crucial for the overall performance of the bridle. Our headpieces are designed for mechanical symmetry and stability, without locking or creating static pressure.
Fixed, centered attachment points that cannot move eliminate the micro-rotation that typically occurs when buckles slip or are adjusted during work. This ensures that the pressure from the bit and noseband is distributed evenly across the neck, rather than shifting from side to side. The result is more predictable and balanced pressure—something the Icelandic horse’s nervous system tolerates much better.
At the same time, the headpieces are shaped to allow complete freedom for the mane. Thoughtful design directs pressure over the mane crest and the sensitive structures along the neck’s midline, allowing natural micro-movements in the neck and atlas (C1) without compromising the bridle’s stability.
For Icelandic horses, where even small pressure imbalances can quickly affect balance, tölt, and mental relaxation, this results in a headpiece that:
- stays in place without fixation
- distributes pressure evenly between right and left sides
- respects the anatomy of the neck and the natural movement of the mane
DEVELOPED TO PROTECT THE INSIDE OF THE CHEEK
This English noseband has been designed with a particular focus on comfort and protection for the inside of the cheek. The contoured padding creates a deliberate space between the noseband and the horse’s soft tissues, reducing the risk of pressure, pinching, and sores—issues that often occur when the noseband sits too close to the cheek.
By allowing the padding to work with the natural shape of the horse’s nose rather than pressing directly against the cheek, the horse enjoys greater comfort even during longer rides. The result is a noseband that stays stable without causing unnecessary discomfort in a sensitive area.
The removable Aachen strap allows the noseband to be adjusted according to need and type of training, without affecting its fundamental function or fit.
This is a functional and thoughtfully designed noseband for riders who want to prevent sores and pinching injuries while prioritizing the horse’s comfort and well-being in every detail.
